Luca was the first single cell organism alive, the last common ancestor. Luca has 355 identified genes which tell us about the origins of life, like hydrothermal vents. Luca gets the energy from hydrogen, not the sun. The first forms of life came from plants about 3.7 years ago.
I believe that being alive is Homeostasis, which means a balance in the feedback system. ALong with Metabolism, because you have to be able to capture energy and spend it by eating food. Nextly Reproduction, whatever is alive, needs sperm, eggs, and a reproductive system sexually. Lastly, Response to the environment, It needs to be able to adapt and change to everything like the human body adapts to heat and fighting illnesses.
The goal of the tree of life is to show everything is related, for example, Phylogenetic tree Uses traits and genetic reconstruction. Common ancestors are the roots of an evolutionary tree determined by traits members share. Evolutionary relationships are branches that are closer together and are more closely related because there's more traits. Finally, Species are the tips of the branches that might be living or extinct. Physical features of the snakes determined how most of the snakes are related.
