ุงูุดุฑูุท
Sanity
The person must be mentally sane.
Ability
Fasting becomes wajib (obligatory) after puberty.
Baligh
Physically able to fast without harm.
(Sick people, elderly, pregnant or breastfeeding women who can't manage are excused with alternatives.)
ุงูุฃุฑูุงู
Intention (Niyyah)
To make a sincere intention in the heart to fast.
Abstaining from
Eating and drinking, Vomiting on purpose
Sunnah
Breaking Fast
Start with fresh dates, or if unavailable, dried dates, or water.
Avoiding Bad Deeds
Avoid arguments, gossip, and negative speech.
Generosity and Good Deeds
Give charity, feed others who are fasting, Increase acts of worship (reading Qurโan, praying, etc.).
Nullifiers
Eating or Drinking (intentionally)
Forgetting does NOT break the fast.
Ejaculation
Through desire, leading to release.
Menstruation
If a woman begins her period, her fast is immediately invalid.
Apostasy (leaving Islam)
If a person leaves Islam during fasting, the fast becomes invalid.

Increases Taqwa (God-consciousness)
Fasting teaches us self-control and brings us closer to Allah.
Purifies the Soul
Helps cleanse the heart from bad habits like anger, jealousy, and gossip.
Develops Patience & Gratitude
Makes us grateful for the blessings we often take for granted.
Multiplied Rewards
Good deeds in Ramadan are multiplied, and sins are forgiven.
