VIRUS
VIRUS
Macro Viruses
These viruses infect documents, spreadsheets, or other files that contain macros (small programs). They can spread when you open the infected file in a program like Microsoft Word or Excel.
Metamorphic Viruses
Similar to polymorphic viruses, these viruses rewrite their own code each time they infect a system, making them even harder to detect.
Polymorphic Viruses
These viruses change their code or behavior to avoid detection by antivirus software. They essentially "mask" themselves by altering their appearance each time they infect a system.
Boot Sector Viruses
These viruses infect the master boot record (MBR) of a computer. When the system starts, the virus is activated, often before the operating system is loaded.
Resident Viruses
These viruses embed themselves in the computer's memory and can infect any files that the system accesses.
ANTIVIRUS
Cloud-Based Antivirus
These antivirus solutions rely on cloud computing to detect and prevent threats, reducing the amount of resources used on the local machine. They often receive constant updates from the cloud.
Real-Time Antivirus
Real-time antivirus software continuously scans files, programs, and applications as they are accessed or opened. It provides ongoing protection against new threats.
