- - - - The Skin
        
        Although it is not usually regarded as one, the skin is, by definition, indeed an organ, and the biggest one at that. It is no surprise that the skin is one of the richest communities of microogarnisms, because of all the germs and bugs we pick up from rubbing, handling, sitting, and touching our enviroment.
        
        Most of the population of the skin consists of bacteria, but most of them live in the more moist areas of the body, like the pits of your elbows and the underside of feet. Fungus, however, is consistent for the most area of the body, predominatly the malassezia genus, as well as many living in the foot area
      - The eyes
        
        The eye has a unsurprislingly small quantity of bacteria, only five have been recorded on the healthy conjunctiva, and less is known what role these play in the health (or detriment) of the eye
      - The genitals
        
        Unfortunately, the genitals of females is largely unknown in the context of microbial research, and this uncertainty is further obscured by the way that sexual activity, race, age and periods might affect research- no one woman is really similar.
        
        As for the male reproductive systems, it does not get better. The only real kind of research that has been done and found semi-clear answers was a study that found that uncircumsized penises had significantly different and larger amounts of bacteria
      - The mouth
        
        There are many kinds of bacteria, viruses and funguses that call the mouth home, such as Fusobacteria, Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria, Chlamydiae, Chloroflexi, Bacteroidetes, Spirochaetes, SR1, Firmicutes, Synergistetes, Saccharibacteria, and Gracilibacteria, and they all live in harmony, until something becomes unbalanced, causing oral infections and nasty diseases
      - The Gut
        
        The gut is probably the most impressive of the organs that hosts our tiny little goobies, as it has the largest concentration of them than any other body part, and all these lil guys are imperative for the health of our tummies. However, if their is a massive growth in populations in one species, than it can be deadly.
        
        Additionally, there are around 2,700 individual species of microoganisms in the gastrointestinal tract!!!! WOW
        
        Some of these micros include viruses, but not the kind you would think of when you heard that. Bacteriophages are a kind of virus that is actually benificial to the enviroment, as they act as a kind of tiny predator in the gut, keeping bacteria numbers and a sustainable level.
      - The lungs
        
        Bacteria in the lungs is often only thought of in the terms of asthma and other diseases of that nature, but bacteria are also present in healthy lungs. Asthma is only developed when the balance is destroyed.
