He lived with his Auntie but she didn't treat him well, not understanding or respecting his ADHD.
He moved to Texas to move away from all of the stress and anguish that his was in his life in the hopes he would start fresh.
He now takes a drug to help combat his ADHD however, this has caused him addiction issues and has gotten him into trouble with the drug dealers.
He is not dignosed until half way in the story (plot point 2: climax, to resolution, character arc: big change and conflict with self)
