1 CONSEQUENCES OF THE WAR
There were many economic losses
Russia and France suffered the most
Germany had to pay a high price in war compensation to other countries
The political consequences were very important.
The German, Austro-Hungarian, Russian and Ottoman empires disappeared

The United States emerged as a great world power
The human losses were enormous
Ten million soldiers were killed
Seven million civilian deaths
And even a higher number of people wounded

The female labour force replaced men in the factories during the war
2 PEACE TREATIES
This Treaties are known collectively as the Treaties of Paris
The Treaty of Versailles was signed with Germans
This included economic, military and territorial agreements
Their harsh conditions were viewed by the German people as a humiliation.

Led to the creation of the League of Nations
Its objectives were to establish international relations
In which peace was the fundamental principle
The Terms of the Treaty of Versailles
The creation of a demilitarised zone in the German territory bordering France
Limiting the German army to 100,000 men.
The exclusion from the League of Nations.
The Saar mining region had to send all its coal production to France
The prohibition of any attempt at union between Germany and Austria.
