Mechanisms
Rotary motion mechanisms
Friction drives
The radio between the rotation of velocity of the wheels or pulleys depends on the relative size of the wheels. Uses: often in industry to make metal sheets
-
Pulleys with belt
They consist of two pulleys or wheels that are certain distance apart. The axles are pararell and they rotate simultaneously. The two pulleys and the two axes rotate in the same direction. Uses: industrial machines (for example)
-
-
Worm gear
This is a screw thet moves a helical cogweel that is perpendicular to the screw. Uses: Lap cunters, gear reduction systems, musical turning keys....
-
Gear train
This is a system with more tha two gears, connected together as shown in the diagram. Uses: machine tools, robotics, vehicle gearbox...
-
Pulley trains with belts
It´s a system of pulleys, or wheels, with a belt formed by more than two wheels

Connecting mechanisms
-
-
Movable connections are used to connect shafts that can move along the axle or at the angle to each other
-
-
-
Mechanisms are devices that transmit and convert forces and motion for a driving force or imput element to an output element.
-
Linear motor mechanisms
Mechanisms that transmit motion and force in a straight line to a point to another. Examples includes levers and fixed, mobiles and conpoun pulleys.
-
Fixed pulley
Is a wheel that has a groove around it into which a rope, chain or belt fits. It rotates around an axel that is fixed to an immobile surface. Uses: wells and gym equipment
-
-
-
Compound pulley
This is a system of compound pulley, often called block and tackle. If we use more pulleys, the system become more complex, but less effort is needed. Uses: lifts, good lifts and cranes
