Recycling Solution Brainstorming
Online methods teaching others how to recycle
Adding an additional page onto daymap/google classroom loaded with all the information one would need to be able to successfully recycle. Making said page very visible so everyone can see it.
Adding a page on the government website that is very visible with information on recycling
Online app similar to Khan academy with lessons on different recycling, which rubbish goes into what bins, etc. Students and adults can complete courses to earn points, making the experience more rewarding
Mandatory online course that students have to take yearly, explaining about recycling, the impacts of recycling, etc.
Educational programs
Mandatory educational programs partnered with schools, where people from the government or other places come in to teach students about the necessity of recycling and how to recycle well
Charity programs with a focus on recycling and teaching members of the community about recycling
School programs/activities promoting recycling
Initiating a "South Australia recycling day", promoting recycling across the whole state/suburb
More accessible bins
Not sure how this could be implemented, maybe just increasing the amount of bins within a neighbourhood
Ensuring that there are recycling bins near/next to all ordinary bins to ensure people are recycling
More signs on bins
Making larger more visible signs on bins displaying which types of rubbish should go on which bin
Adding a QR code on all bins that once scanned, leads you to a website/app that tells you exactly what can and can't be put into that bin, you can ask an Ai system if what you want to put in that bin is able to be put in there and it will answer etc
Giving people motivation to recycle
Charity events, fundraisers
Government fliers and advertisements promoting recycling
Government ads (e.g. at movies where there are ads ending with "brought to you by the government of [etc]"), talking about recycling and promoting it
