Why (function):
External: Protects body from injury, drying out, & possible invasion.
Internal: Protects secretion, absorbtion, excretion, & fliration.
Connective tissue
What: Tissue that binds organs together, provides protection, support, stores (fat), fills spaces & produces blood cells.
Some types of functions:

Adipose tissue: Stored "fat tissue." Can be used for energy, insulation, & organ protection.

Muscle tissue
What: Made up of muscle fibres (cells) that are composed of actin & myosin proteins. Major function is movement.
Types of Function
Skeletal: Stratified cells with multiple nuclei. In muscles attrached to skeleton. Movement to body. Voluntary.

Smooth: Spindle-shaped cells with single nuceli's . No straition, In blood vessels & digestive tract walls. Movement through luman. Involuntary.
Cardic: Branching, striatated cells, each with a nucleus. In a heart wall, pumps blood. Involuntary.
