6.CONCLUSIONS.
To facilitate a shared understanding and standardization of Business Tourism, this study offers the following actionable tools based on its findings
Methodological Framework: The proposed steps for defining Business Tourism provide a practical guide for aligning academic and industry perspectives. These include integrating key components (e.g., MICE, economic impact), empirical validation with stakeholder feedback, and ensuring adaptability to global and regional contexts.
Standardization Guide: Developing a detailed guide that outlines classification criteria and best practices for applying the definition in real-world scenarios. This tool ensures consistency and provides a reference for stakeholders to classify and analyze business tourism activities effectively.
Collaborative Platforms: Encouraging workshops, peer reviews, and multidisciplinary partnerships to refine and validate the definition. These platforms foster dialogue and shared responsibility among academics, policymakers, and industry leaders.
FUTURE RESEARCH AND DIRECTIONS
Future research should address the following priorities to deepen the understanding of business tourism and support its ongoing development:
Empirical Validation: Validate the multidimensional definition of business tourism that reflects its economic, cultural, and technological dimensions, incorporating global and regional variations.
Rural and Smart Destinations: Investigate the potential of business tourism in rural and smart destinations, focusing on its capacity to revitalize economies and enhance operations through sustainable practices and advanced technologies.
Bleisure Integration: Explore the implications of combining business and leisure travel, examining how this trend influences traveler experiences and market diversification.
Advanced Technologies: Assess the transformative role of technologies like AI, big data, and IoT in improving personalization, operational efficiency, and sustainability in business tourism.
Return on Investment (ROI): Evaluate ROI in both quantitative and qualitative terms, focusing on the economic benefits, relationship building, and customer loyalty associated with business tourism activities.
