Sun Wukon
Sun Wukong (the monkey king) was a very naughty monkey that was eager to take over the world. The Buddha went through a lot of trouble to stop him.
Chang'e and Hou Yi
Hou Yi had an immortality potion, but it only worked for one person. He did not want to leave his wife Chang'e, so he made her look after the potion for him. One day, his student Feng Meng tried to steal it, and Chang'e knew she couldn't protect the potion, so she drank it instead. The potion sent her to the moon where she still watches earth.
The Jade Rabbit
There are many stories told about the Jade Rabbit. He was a companion for Chang'e, and is often pictured next to her. He is associated with the medical profession, and is often seen holding a mortar and a pestle.
