- - - - ie. people who are being trafficked are victims and are protected by the state, whereas migrants and smugglers are not
    - - the only balkan country that did NOT rank 2 on the watch list was FRYOM or northern macedonia which ranks number 1 (good job) but they unfortunately have fallen into the tier 2, most of the western balkans are in the tier 2 and tier 2 watchlist
- - - - if you wanna get specific, it says in the article that the only purpose for detainment is to prepare for the return process and they should not be held their for an extended period of time (some are held for as long as 18 months) some of these detention places are prisons which favors the connection between crime and immigration (no bueno)
      - for example, look at polish law, which says that you can detain a migrant for simply entering the country without documents. Romania and Poland (both under EU) are extremely blunt when it comes to the criminalization of migrants, they are both also quite harsh with the denention camps and shit (pg. 136 ch.6 Ottavy)
      - uh oh ukraine, you thought you were so high and mighty and all that shit, but turns out that even though you are not a part of the EU, your denention camps and laws are probably the worst I've seen yet. Turns out that for detention stays longer than 12 months, you required court hearings until 2012, but there were no formal hearings or proceedings and you did not provide interpretors for the migrants you piece of shit. (pg. 215, Ch.10, Duvell) Also, when migrants to apply for the refugee asylum, you are supposed to release them from detaintment, but instead you just keep them there (which is technically against Ukrainian law) (pg. 216 Ch. 10, Duvell)
