problems social for the clients
no jobs- most people that live in makoko slums dont have high paying jobs like working in the rubbbish dump trying to find things to sell off. this means they have no way of working up to get out of the slums making it hard to help there family pay for the essentials
shelter- most people that live there live illegally so they can get evicated if nessasary. most people want to do this as they ruin the sight of makoko. they also but most homes from scratch. they used recycled peaces of wood to built a square house on stilts
asses to clean water - people dont have asses to clean water due to there not being a fercility for that. they used water from the river / ocean to drink from without cleaning it first
no saitation - children especially dont knwo how to stay clean like to wash there hand ect. this leads to having no sanitaion befroe eating or after going to the toliet.
disease - its a big issue due to people not being able to see a doctor. this can be becuase of what they eat or what they do or the water they swim in.
food - most people cant afford food, most people catch and eat fish what isnt a healthy diet if it is just fish. people also dont knwo how to make diffrent food and dont have the resourses for it
education - education is limmited at best and most can efford a good education, leading to people not getting the best start in life. it also doent help that most adults living there dosnt have any education so cant teach there children
tollets and showers - most people share a toliet between 15 people this cuases diseass due to it being unhygenic. also most people dont have working showers what make then staying clean hard. some people wash in the river but this is dirty watewr with sewage in it.
what alredy happening
school being buit on the river- prodject didnt happen as it failed when being ut against stroge winds.
volitary teachers - lach of teachers as they want money to accually work
problems enviromental fro the clients
dump - the river/ocean is used to dump things like recycling or waste form the sewage. this is dangerous as it can cause diseases when people swim in it or eat the fish from it
enviroment isnt safe - in the water theere are lots of things that can hurt anyone due to objects poking out that are sharp and dangerous
hosuing conditions - most people love in a wooden house make from old and moldy materials. this can fall down at anytime and isnt comfrtable to sleep in. also due to tje raise in sea the homes can get flooded making it uncomfrtable to sleep in
economic problems
no money to help - makoko doenst have money to spend on the lsums as there isnt enough. also it people in other countrys dont knwo why or how its so bad so dont spend moeny on it
family isuues - famiily issues due to large familys with no space to live. also familys have lack of money so cant get food
people dont want to come / not nice to see - making people not want to come and spend money meaning it wont go into the econimy, this could make people want to get rid of the slums
eviction- some people arenworried of getting evicted as they dont own the land and could get evicted by the counsil
