SACRED TEXT
The most important sacred text of Taoism is the Tao Te Ching, also known as Lao-tzu. Other important texts include Chuang Tzu.
The Tao Te Ching is a collection of prose poems that is considered the foundation of Taois
It is made up of 81 chapters and is filled with advice on life and descriptions of nature.
The book is believed to have been compiled around the 3rd century BCE.
It is considered a guide to living a full spiritual and ethical life.
According to legend, it was intended to be a manual for Chinese rulers.

Taoism has been connected to the philosopher Lao Tzu, who, around 500 B.C.E., wrote the main book of Taoism, the Tao Te.
