about 42% of equestrians suffer from eating disorders, with roughly 42% of riders struggle with some sort of body distortion.
anxiety: 18% of trainers suffer from anxiety, 27% of jockeys suffer from anxiety, 43% of riders have anxiety riding on the road.
a study showed that 58% of people had an increase of anxiety and depression after a fall.
Over 58% of riders have experienced mild depression or worse, 30% of those riders haven’t returned to their baseline mental health score so might still be struggling now. In the racing industry, suicides happen each week.
