Childhood Examples
From the ages of 5 and up, I mostly watched animated shows on Cartoon Network. Regular Show, TAWOG and Steven Universe were some of my favourite because of their storytelling, vibrant visuals and diverse characters.
Literature wise, I was very into the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series as well as Dork Diaries. Both books contained simple yet silly drawings to them which were unique to that author.
For games, it was mostly computer games until I got my first console. Multiplayer online games such as Animal Jam, Movie Star Planet and Transformice was what I played the most. Being able to customise my character allowed me to be imaginative and creative.
