Angular Motion - Coggle Diagram
Angular Motion
Angular Velocity
is the rate of change of angular displacement with respect to time
measured using rad/s
represented as revolution per minute [rpm]
1 rpm = 2π/ 60 rad/s
denoted by ω
Angular Displacement
is defined as the angle and the direction through which a body turns
measured using rad or rev
denoted by θ
1 revolution = 360 degrees = 2π radians
Angular Acceleration
is the rate of change of angular velocity with respect to time
measured using rad/s^2
denoted by α
Uniform Motion
A motion is called uniform when the angular acceleration is constant
Centripetal Acceleration
Relation to Linear Motion
Translational Motion
Every particle in the rigid body has the same instantaneous velocity
Rotational Motion
Every particle in the rigid body has the same angular velocity and travels in circles around a fixed axis
Rolling Motion
Translational + Rotational
