Comparing
What is comparing? Comparison is procedure of examining two or more ideas, people, objects, or events in order to identify their similarities and differences. It's a basic science process skill that helps children to understand concepts, understand relationships, and make decisions.
Examples:
Comparing Living and Non-Living Things
The similarities between a bird and a rock is that both exists in nature and can be touch while the differences is the bird is alive, grows and moves and the rock is non-living and stays in the same size
Classifying
What is classifying? Classifying means putting things into groups that have something in common such as by color, size, shape, or type.
Examples:
Example 1: A child classifies a set of animals by where they live: land and water
Example 2: A child classifies a set of flowers by color: pink, blue, purple
