à Brakel provides five ways in which the persons are distinguished in Scripture. First, he points to the classic distinction from relations of origins, and he comments that this is foundational. Second, he points to the very names imply difference, and then third he points to the order in which Scripture portrays them. Fourth, a distinction can be made from the processions, and fifthly, is the manner of operation in which all things come out of the Father, through the Son, and in the Spirit. (Epp 102-103)
