During my spring 2023 semester, I was fortunate to participate in a London study abroad program. This element of my life is one where my "experiencing self" and "remembering self" are virtually parallel, as I participated in and recall this time as a constantly entertaining learning opportunity — for personal, social and academic growth. While living in a completely novel environment was undoubtedly the biggest life change I had experienced thus far, this opportunity created incredible friendships, presented five enriching courses about culture, diversity and media, and exposed me to British society. This three month period brought about a newfound sense of independence and certainly improved my navigational skills on the "Tube" and via plane, as I was also able to travel to Barcelona, Amsterdam, Dublin, Edinburgh and Florence for a second time. Although I don't have much current interest in living abroad, I hope to visit London again soon to walk some of the same paths I did when I lived in that comforting flat in Bloomsbury.
