Cultural Diversity Web: Students will create a web/ mind map that focuses on a specific community (e.g., school, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada). On the mind map, students will be challenged to identify different aspects of cultural diversity within that community. The chosen community will be written in the middle of the page and circled. Students will then draw lines out of the main topic, and write down related aspects/ topics (e.g., languages spoken, holidays, cultures). Students will expand on each point to get further details. Part of this will be completed as a class to ensure that students are clear on what is expected, but as classes go on, students will be tasked with filling in the web during lessons.
