- - - - Global sea levels has risen about 8 inches since reliable record keeping began in 1880. by 2100 scientist predict it will rise another foot but possibly as high as 6.6 feet. Sea level is rising because of added water from melted ice.
- - - - This feedback loop shows how increased temperatures are causing the ice to melt. The temperature of the earth increases. This melts the snow and ice. The sun is absorbed more by the ocean and land (and not reflected by the ice). And the temperature of the earth continues to increase. This cycle is continuing to cause more ice to melt.
