Ideal Operational Amplifiers
Types of amplifiers
Differential amplifiers
Depends on voltage difference between two input terminals
Input resistance is infinite. Output resistance is 0
Operation ampliers
Assumption 1: Input voltage difference is 0
Assumption 2: Input currents are 0
Inverting op amps
Gain = -R2/R1
Noninverting op amps
Gain = 1 + R2/R1
Summing amplifiers
Implements a summing junction
Difference amplifier
Implements a differential substractor
Frequency dependent amplifiers
Lowpass filter
Allows frequencies within certain cuttoff frequency to pass through while attenuating high frequencies
Highpass filter
Allows frequencies above a certain cutoff frequency to pass through while attenuating low frequencies
Integrator
Generates an output proportional to the integral of the input signal over time
Differentiator
Produces an output that is proportional to the rate of change of the input signal
