STI's
HPV: Also known as genital warts. Transmitted through skin to skin contact. Can cause cervical cancer in women or genital tumors.
Gonorrhea: Nearly identical to chlamydia accept that twice as many men are infected over women. Treated with anti-biotics.
Genet al Herpes: Two types. HSV 1 and HSV 2. HSV 1 spread through oral contact. HSV 2 spread throguh sexual contact. No cure to herpese. It causes blisters.
Syphillis: First stage causes ulcers around infected area. Second stage causes rashes. Third stage affects nervous and cardiovascular systems causing heart disease, blindness, mental illness. Can also cause stillbirth by infecting developing embryos. Antibiotics can cure it but if not cught early enough, can cause irreversible damage.
Hepititis: Three types, A, B, C. A spread through water consumption or exposure to fecal matter. B spread through sexual or other body fluids. C is transmitted through blood contact.
Chalmidia: Most common types of STI. 75% of infected don't have any symptoms. However symptoms may include inflammation of pelvic regions, discharge, burning, fevers. It can even cause infertility. Treaded with antibiotics when caught early enough.
HIV/AIDS: Attacks white blood cells weakening the immune system.Makes individuals more susceptible to infections resulting in high risk of death. Spread through blood contact, sexual contact or even breastfeeding.
