AMERICAS PURPOSE IN WW1 - Coggle Diagram

- - - - In the 1914's we were questioning if being neutral would be giving loans to our allies. Said by Secretary of State WIlliam 1914-The question is if we should let them loan money. To be neutral we must not provide/approve loans to countries who are hostile/in the war. Loans are a financial bias and make it so we will not be impartial. (DOCUMENT 2)
    - - To be neutral, giving supplies to help the allies would help. Yet there is a problem with that. According to document 8, it shows a picture with children, Uncle Sam, England, England blockade, and Germany. The meaning with this picture is that we are trying to trade with Germany, but the England blockade is not letting us trade with Germany so it is mainly affecting us. On top of not allowing us to trade with them. In addition, document three adds on this. In document three, Germany warns American to not go on British ships and use the In the war zone. Then, Americans are now surprised that some people died/ drowned, due to them riding British U-boats on near a war zone. DOC 3
    - - In the 1914's if we would not go into war, we would be isolated and later, could be turned down by a lot of Europe since you didn't take a side. According ninth document, his document also talks about having war and peace together, Mexico also want to get Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico. The document wants the person that he sent this to, to be inviting Japan to war or to leave them and ourselves alone. Zimmerman Telegram.         In document 12, Wilson talks about proving the human right. We SHOULD NOT be neutral due to us needing to be patient. As proven in document 12, Woodrow Wilson says that his motive is to prove the human right. He also says that the enemy spies have been here even when the war began. He says that the world has to be safe for democracy. As proven in document 11, being patient will kill us. In document 11, The Boat Symbolizes the U.S's Patience Being sunk by a German U-Boat due to the Political problem.

        In war, the two main alliances were the Central Power. This includes: German Empire, Austria-Hungary, the Ottoman Empire, and Bulgaria. The Triple Entente included: Russian Empire, the French Third Republic, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain. As you can see, there was a clear side. The Triple Entente had SO MANY sales 2,250,000,000. Yet, the Central Power had 1,000,000 sales. This is quite a massive difference and would lead to one side have significant financial debt.
      - It says in document six, it's a song and they're about over 10 million young men/ soldiers who have gone to wars and died. The sadness and grief of 10 million mothers around the war. As well, in document seven, it talks about the brutal slaughtering of a family from Germany. Killing the husband, wife, and baby and throwing them onto their burning house. As well, in document 4, it talks about the Germany Embassy- meant for Americans in 1915. The Germans warned people on the Atlantic voyage that a state of war exists. Warned Americans that they will destroy any ship they see. Between Germany an Great Britain. Includes water adjacent to British Isles to Imperial German Government. If we went to war, it would be putting us in unnecessary danger.
        
        MONARCH RULING/AWAY FROM DEMOCRATIC VIEWS
        
        In document thirty, Senator Robert LaFollette, talks about how if we go into war, we will be teaming with two monarchies. These are Great Britain and Russia. Great Britain has a House of Lords and a House of Common which shows a great rule of who's in charge. Russia and its people will be confused why they enter this war and later on turn into the Soviet Union Russia, which is solely communism. All of these which are anti-democracy. This would be going against Wilson and the entire USA's word of going with democracy and being a "free country."
