Usually used to record keystrokes to find out passwords/banking info
Worm
self replicating Malware that uses up bandwidth
Pharming
Interfere with DNS to take you to fake website
RansomWare
Encrypts files/data on devices in network and charges ransom for the return of them

Replicates with human assistance, if not found and deleted before execution bad thing will happen to device
prevent by - Use antivirus, dont download suspicious files
Brute force
Trying different passwords until combination is found.

SQL Injection
Testing certain lines of code until one gives access to server's database if not robust enough
prevent by - Have a robust database
Data Interception and Theft
package sniffing- looking into data being sent and taking valuable info
prevent by using a VPN/encryption methods
Social Engineering
Not malicious software, e.g. Phishing, Blagging, shouldering.

Attempt to get people to send you money by impersonating someone over phone call/email.
Shouldering
An attempt to get a physical view upon your banking details (peeking over shoulder at atm.....)
Phishing
Through email and link to false website, usually impersonating another organization. this will then lead to an attempt to steal personal info
prevent by - checking email sender, cover your banking details, dont click on sus links.
Ddos
An attack upon a website/server by sending so many requests that the server crashes
the request sending devises are called zombies and this is also a type of ransomware(may ask for money before to stop attack)
prevent by - Use antivirus - pay service provider to install firewalls
Teacher Comments - A comprehensive mindmap covering all the threats covered in class. The descriptions are short and somewhat rushed. You haven't included prevention methods for many of the threats. I feel you could have done a better job with this. In the exam you will need to write more detailed descriptions or you won't access the higher grades.
