wanted me to testify that Althanar hated Embersworn, in return for saving Althanar from execution for his crimes.
There is an eye witness. (Eye witnesses?) Suspect illusion magic.

Someone took a Snap of him passing me the original Highrune records back in the café. He was being monitored even then?
Apparently wasn't cleared to give them to me
Resisting Arrest, apparently enough to be so injured he couldn't see visitors. He definitely barely resisted when he was arrested.

In charge of the investigation
Said that Althanar had received medical aid. I later visited Althanar, and this did not seem to be the case. I didn't ask, though.
Disabled the monitoring crystals. Told me the outcome of the case was pre-determined, and nothing I could do would stop it.
"The guards have been working on the case against the apprentice day and night."

Handling clerical work on Althanar's case, seems overworked. Seems very "proper" with his work.
Likely dislikes if paperwork goes missing or things aren't done properly.
Handed him the physical evidence of alibi
Feels the case is being "rushed".
Has said he will send a mender in to check on Althanar at some point. Given the 'feel' of this man, I expect there to be a paper trail.

Falsified evidence being put in Althanar's possession? He was arrested in his underwear, but I was given 'items he was arrested with' to pick up (some keys and a fountain pen)
Keys and note in the fountain pen pointed to a way to get information to Althanar through Eliana Sunkeep. Suspect she put these items in the evidence stash. Case is so full of holes nobody noticed anything wrong with this? (Or Eliana in danger too.)
Althanar clearly being beaten, bruise ages look wrong for his arrest time
Althanar hasn't been given legal representation or a chance to seek it due to being "too injured", due to "resisting arrest". He didn't get more than a couple of thumps when he was arrested, not enough to stop him from seeing a lawyer.

Kathan. Quel'dorei, was on a visit to the Sunwell. Was attacked in East Eversong. Had been invited to do work with House Highrune, but was sworn not to tell.

Fell ill around the time Althanar and I started investigating the Highrune issue?
Suddenly got better a couple of weeks before he was murdered.
