Greenhouse gases trap heat in the atmosphere, warming the Earth. This causes climate change, with extreme weather, melting ice, rising seas, and damage to ecosystems. As you can see in the image, the natural greenhouse effect has a smaller effect on climate change, but since humans created ways to enhance the effect, climate change has gotten a lot worse. Greenhouse gases are the biggest contributor of making climate change a lot worse.
