Storyline
Characters
The reader - Them themselves, a student making choices that effect others.
-
Disruptive 'friend'
This shows that regardless of no needs or extra needs students can still be good or bad. This is the person who denies inclusivity and is loud in the classroom which sets off other students but escapes blame.
SEN student
This character is the focus of the story and is used to show the impact of yours and other negative / positive actions.
Teacher
an unempathetic, non-understanding version of an education figure
Support staff
used to explain the morals of the story, showing empathy and a positive impact on students through communication and inclusion.
Ideas I must cover
-
Although some student learn or act in different ways there is nothing wrong with this and communication is the way to solve all issues.
-
Beginning - we will begin in a classroom, introducing the reader into the setting and scenario. The first choice will happen here where the reader will witness the impact of a negative vs positive interaction on the experiences of both SEN and other pupils in the classroom
this will be shown through an action like a reaction from a student or fellow classmate, where the choice will be to 'talk to your friend' or 'listen to teacher'.
-
Middle - We will now move to the playground where our reader will be given the decision whether to allow the SEN student to join the game or not.
I must use the decisions within the story to show children how their choices can have drastic effects and changes on others experiences
End - This brings us to the conclusion of the story where I must highlight the overall message of the story while conveying the fact that despite doing things different or being different student with SEN are no less or more than everyone else and that inclusion, acceptance, toleration and communication is the best way to improve the experience of everyone.
to do this I will show that despite being denied access to the game or on the other hand, being allowed into the game, when someone got hurt and no-one knew what to do it was the child everyone thought was lesser-abled that helped; how or how fast we learn does not mean we are not as able as everyone else.
