The Tyger - Coggle Diagram

- - - - Archaic writing of tyger emphasises childhood nostalgia and whimsy
      - -The plosive 'b' sounds and exclamation create excitement and a ferocious nature that mimics the power of the tyger.
      - -The tyger is in contrast to the dark forest, perhaps symbolising hope and inspiration in the consuming darkness.
      - -The deep and sprawling forest could be a metaphor for a growing city like London, hiding secrets and corruption.
      - -William Blake is asking the reader what kind of God could create such a violent creature as the Tiger. The use of the word symmetry also implies that Blake sees a certain amount of beauty in the Tiger.
  - - - Philosophical tone present in the rhetorical questions
      - Imagery of hell and a reference to Lucifer's fall establish that the tyger holds an evil presence.
      - -"Seize the fire" is blacksmith imagery - one imagines God sitting in heaven forging the first Tyger - which conflates the Christian God with the Greek blacksmith god Hephaestus.
      - -Additionally, the combined use of "fire" and "wings" could be satanic, referring to Satan who fell from grace after becoming one of God's favourite angels, again reinforcing the idea that the industrial revolution could doom humanity
