Human body and his systems
Made up of a lot of biological systems which are composed of organs that work together
Cyrculatory system, formed by heart, blood, blood vessels, arteries and veins
Moves blood and transport nutrients, gases and other molecules
Respiratory system, formed by trachea, lungs and diaphragram
Take in oxygen and expel carbon dioxide
Lymphatic system, includes lymph nodes, lymph ducts and lymph vessels
Moves lymph, a fluid that contains white blood cells that fights infection. More over removes excess lymph fluid from tissues
Endocrine system, made of 8 glands
Secretes hormones which regulate different body functions like metabolism and growth
Nervous system, is composed of nerves (peripheral system), brain and spinal cord (central system)
Controls voluntary and involuntary actions and sends signals to different parts of the organism
Muscoloskeletal system, made up of 650 muscles and 206 bones
Allows support and movement
Digestive system, formed by mouth, stomach, intestine, liver, pancreas, rectum and anus
Breaks down food and absorbes it, while pancreas produces digestive juices and enzymes
Excretory system, includes kidneys, ureters, bladder, sphincter muscles and urethra
Eliminates urea, regulates electrolyte balance and acid base homeostasis and controls blood volume, pression and pH
Reproductive system, made up of different sex organs
Allows reproduction by keeping inside the fertilizes egg
Integumentary system, includes hair, nails and skin
Protects the body from the outside, fighting against bacteria, viruses and other pathogens. It also regulate body temperature and eliminate waste through perspiration
