Modern Computers Developement
First modern computers were enormous.
Chronological Order of Computer Developement
1941
Alan Turing
created the
Colossus
. It was used to break codes of the German Forces during WWII. It broke the German Enigma Code and saved many lives.
1944
This computer used
electromagnetic switches
to store information. This switches used the
binary system
which is the basis of all computing systems today.
1953
IBM created a computer that used
vacuum tubes
. They were
faster
but
consumed lots of energy and occupied a lot of space
.
1958
The first
integrated circuit
was invented. This made possible to have smaller computers.
1960
The
microprocessor
was invented by Intel.
Personal Computers
Apple
Steve Jobs founded this small company who quickly became a World Wide Company.
They were the
first company
to create
laptops
.
IBM
It became the World Leader computer sales.
They used the Intel 8080 Microprocessor.
