Why What How - Initial
Why
To be truly genuine about ‘A Place for Everyone’ we need to practice active and deep listening to the groups we are trying to include.
Growing a network of expert groups with real lived experience will only enhance our design skill and the outside perception in the marketplace
The topic is too big to simply rely on high level understanding through design guides and best practice (though they have their place).
More and more Clients and Project Managers will be pushed by legislation to seek evidence of this expertise and experience
What
A network or alliance of partners with expert groups in our local areas that we can engage with formally.
Real engagement and collaboration with expert groups – generic meetings and project specific engagement.
Develop a strategy for engagement / consultation for multiple project types – working with clients to create the best strategy for their project.
Library of Best Practice – signposted from one easy to access place (current library saved here: G:\Admin\01 Knowledge Base\1.01 Reference + Research\Inclusive Design).
