I chose George Washington for this module, the module regarding the historical foundations of Human Rights being the one I chose. George Washington is a perfect representation of human rights in the 18th century. He led the US military against the British Empire that were denying them several rights, which would become human rights, such as the freedom of religious choice, freedom of speech, the freedom to protest, etc. Washington also played a role in writing the United States Constitution, which is a very important freedom document. The United States was also the first of many revolutions around the world that would free the people and or the colony they live in from tyrannical governments which include, France, South America etc.
In my future, I would be involved in providing people their right to fair representation depending on which field of law I end up in (UDHR Article 10), the legal system works in a way to presume someone who is accused of a crime to be innocent until a sufficient amount of evidence proves their guilt (UDHR Article 12). Rights such as these came from the United States and with the work of Washington.

For the case of the United States, the right to protest was a major concern in its foundation. The British silenced any dissent against the king because they were taxed without representation. This was one of many human rights violations that led to the American revolution starting in 1775
These two modules are connected because of the foundations. I used the example of the founding fathers of the United States, but the Magna Carta had a significant influence on their work, the Declaration of independence and the US Constitution.
