digital platforms and different type of operating syste, explanation,…

explanation
-
The operating system deals with the instructions that the user gives and helps with the security of the system.
The operating system sits between the user’s applications and the hardware. It enables applications to use the hardware resources.
-
explanation
-
Without it, no programs will run because an operating system is responsible for controlling / communicating with the computer hardware.
E.g. When you print a document, the application talks to the OS, which in turn talks to the printer. The applications cannot directly communicate with the printer.
-
operating systems
Proprietary- Cannot be changed by the user other than simple settings like displays etc.
These limitations on the OS also limit the design of an HCI.

digital platforms
is the system that runs the software applications.
The digital platform chosen will depend on how the HCI will be used.
For example
If the digital platform is being used in a factory, the focus will be on selecting the command efficiently compared with it being used on a mobile phone where there is more scope for creativity and making it look appealing.
