When He Became King: Louis XIV officialy took full control of the governmient in 1661, after th death of Cardinal Mazarin.
Leigth of Rule: His 72-year reign remains the longest recorded of any monarch of a sovereign country in European history.
Style of Rule. Louis was the quintessential absolute monarch, controlling all aspects of goverment, famously declaring, "L etar, c est moi" ("I am the state"). He centralized power and reduce the influence of the nobity.

Love for dance: Louis was a tallented dancer and frenquently performed in count ballets, playing roles such as Apollo, the Greek god of the sun.

Nicknamed the Sun king: He adapted his title to symbolize his roles on the central force on France, just as the sun in central to the solar system.
Problems:
Opposition: During his early reign, Louis faced internal conflictions from the Fronde, a series of civil wars led by mobies and parlliaments against royal authority (1648-1653)
Financial Struggles: His wars drained France´s treasury, leading 10 significant economic, strain by the end of his reign.
Religious Issues: His revocation of the Edict of Nantes in 1685 (hich had granted religions tolerance to Protestants) led to persecution and the fight of Huguariots from France, wenkening the economy.
