The Sky Revolution:
Sky changed England's first division forever in 1992 when the Premier League formed a multi million (now billion) pound deal with Rupert Murdoch's SKY empire.
Sky have had the official broadcast rights to the Premier league for over 32 years, however other networks like TNT sports and NOWTV have entered the scene.
Smaller TV operations do not have full access to broadcast every gamed SKY still have a 75% majority every when the Premier league is on at the weekends.
This past season SKY purchased the right to broadcast all EFL games from the Championship to league two - Taking over from the EFL's IFollow Pass that would cost only £10.
Teams have made their own versions of this for 24/25 season, but they can only be purchased by fans overseas due the UK football blackout at 3pm
Sky commercialised the premier
league as more of brand, rather than
a place to watch football, which angered a
lot of fans.
It allowed SKY to introduce other services
like sky cinema, however that was not as
big of a hit compared to Sky sports.
