Script Outline
Act 1
MC struggles to get out of bed and checks their phone to see the time. The colour is very bleak, with a blue or black tint, representing the character's uneasiness and depression.
We see them walking to college looking around at the environment around them. They are surrounded by nature but they cannot see the beauty properly because of their distorted world view.
They are seen struggling with college work and unable to concentrate on their assignment due to stress and nerves. The teacher is heard in the background saying that they only have 2 weeks to finish the assignment. The MC looks at her friend next to her as he is talking about a fun way to distract themselves from all the nerves.
The scene cuts to the MC sitting on a table surrounded by people but she appears withdrawn and mute. Her friend asks if she wants to hang out after college but she stays quiet and goes back on her phone.
Her friend catches up to her as she is walking home from college and offers her this drug. He says it is just a relaxant and will help her calm down from all the stress.
MC grabs the pills from her side table and has a read at them. She opens the lid and rattles them around for a bit before deciding not to and going to bed with it in her mind.
Act 2
Upon waking up, she once again struggles to get out of bed and contemplates taking the pills. After receiving a message from her friend asking if she has taken the drugs yet, she decides to pop two in her mouth and go to get ready.
Walking to college, the colours around her are saturated, highlighting that she is on substances. She messages her friend saying that the pills are working and if she could have more.
Whilst sitting at her desk, her friend who gave her the drugs comes up to her and says she is looking a lot more lively and better. He offers her to hang out after college to get some more pills and she agrees.
They are all at a table during lunch and she appears to be conversing with a friend opposite her. The girl next to her taps her on the shoulder and asks if she is doing alright as she seems to be acting unusual but MC brushes it off.
When going over to meet up with her friend waiting outside for her, she feels the effects of the drugs start to wear off a bit. He notices and tells her to just take more and so she does as they walk together.
She is in her bedroom putting another box of pills on her side. Her friend messages her again laughing about how messed up she got and that she should meet some of his other friends tomorrow. She takes another set of pills before going to sleep.
Act 3
MC wakes up feeling disoriented and takes the pills yet again but a higher dosage. The colours are a mix of a highly saturated blue as she is feeling both uneasy and bewildered.
Instead of going to college, she skips and messages her friend that she is on her way to the meetup. MC is stumbling a little and not acting right as noticed by individuals passing her.
Once meeting up with the same guy and a few others, she gets offered a higher dosage being promised that it will give her more of a buzz. She looks down at her phone to see that her mum has messaged her asking where she is, but she ignores it and swallows the pills.
There is a close up of her friend speaking to her about skipping college again tomorrow to go to a club event. It is getting quite late and the people around her have started drinking as well. One of the guy's offers her a bottle and she takes a swig of it.
The next shot is of MC laying on the ground with ground level shot. The people around her are talking and laughing, making jokes about the situation and that she is easily influenced. Her eyes start to get heavy and the camera cuts.
She is in bed opening her eyes. Her mum knocks on the door and asks if she is okay and says if she needs to talk they are here for her. However, MC ignores it and takes another pill before going back to sleep.
Act 4
Waking up she gets a message from her classmate asking if she is okay as she hasn't been in college for the past 2 days.She contemplates typing, writing out a few messages before leaving it and taking more pills.
Putting her shoes on and getting ready to leave, her parents say to her that they are worried about her and she should talk to them about her issues. She reaches at the pills in her pocket, looking down at them and then behind her as if she is thinking but decides to leave.
She meets up with her friend and some other people and he starts talking about how they are meeting with a guy who sells crazy stuff. He starts talking with other people and she follows behind, blocking their hearing and disassociating as she is walking.
Her friend in front of her offers her a drug whilst they are waiting in the line for the club. She immediately takes it and enters the club feeling instantly overwhelmed by all the noises and lights.
Ground level/low angle shot of a guy asking her friend if she's alright because she is incredibly drunk and high. Her friend dismisses it and tells the guy that they should just leave in case she gets them kicked out.
MC stumbles outside looking for her friend and ends up sitting on some stairs crying in her hands. A woman walks up to her and asks if she is okay and offers to call her a taxi home as she slowly loses consciousness.
Act 5
MC wakes up in bed in a very dizzy and messy environment. She fights to get out of bed and stand and ends up tripping a lot on her way. Noticing that her tub of pills is empty, she puts it in her pocket and gets ready to go out.
She ends up going on a walk to try figure herself out and find herself again. The nature around her slowly becomes less saturated the more she looks around and stays sober.
She sits on a nearby bench admiring the beautiful view around her. Whilst doing so, she receives a message from her friend that he has been kicked from college and wants to meet up today. She decides to block the guy and as doing so, everything begins to have a more yellow/orange tint to it.
On her way back home, she calls her classmate who was worried about her and asks if she would like to meet up tomorrow to hang out. She accepts and feels a lot more happier with herself.
In the end, shes goes back home and opens the door to her parents more. This represents her willing to change with her finally speaking and letting her parents in. She asks if they can talk and that is how the film ends.
