The lego movies marketing appeals to both children and adults in many ways
One way it targets adults is by the nostalgia created through the use of the toys. The toys in the film are used to symbolise the creativity and imaginatory freeedom that children contain when playing with toys. The fact that the parents do no play with their toys anymore allows them to feel a sense of sadness as they have lost that creative and imaginary freedom that they once obtained. This means thsat the movies is used as a reminder to the adults of the fun they once had and the fun they could still have if they stopped being so serious all the time and just indulged in the imaginary world of legos
