It is over 9500ft tall and is an active composite volcano
Thousands were evacuated for a 20km radius
Smoke rose to 1.5km and pyroclastic activity occurred leaving 18 dead

The danger area was 20km from the mountain
Evacuation centres were overcrowded causing poor sanitation
Farmers lost their livelihoods
353 people were killed in the eruption
Vegetable prices increased
The eruption brought more tourism
Sulphur dioxide was blown across Indonesia
Water supplies were contaminated
There was a slight global cooling due to the ash cloud
210 evacuation centres were set up
1600 people were apart of the national aid response
2600 people had been moved to safer homes permanently
The volcano monitoring system has been improving
