Liberty
The Core Value
Classical Liberals: They stress the importance of liberty, which was a feature of ninetheeth century fundamentalist libereralism, often associated with classical liberals.
Minimal interference from the state [fiscal intervention should be minimised]
Freedom and Individual rights are a priority
Modern Liberals: The liberals expanded their ideas outside the protection of liberty to a wider role of the state in promoting and ensuring welfare and social justice; known as modern liberals.

Welfare
they believe that people do not have the capacity to be free if impoverished, unemployed or sick, or age deprivation. they believe that state welfare sets people free - ties with their core value of liberty

believe that a healthy physical environment with biodeiversity enriiches human life [this is a modern value]
Constitunionalism
they are suspicious of the power of government, and believe that government control should be monitored and controlled. they believe the way the government can be controlled is by a strong constitution [codified]

Support Minorities
Support Same-Sex marriage
Multiculturalism
accommodation for diverse cultures and lifestyles, which should be welcomed and granted special rights
Pluralist view of society
Liberal Democracy
Concerned with human rights and democracy, most notably the HRA [the incorporation of ECHR] and has hence supported constitutional reform.
Remember: many of these values are shared with other prominent political parties, notably labour and conservative, but the main distinction emerges from the prioritisation of different values and the degree of importance cast on the values.
