HYPOTHESIS TESTING - Coggle Diagram

- - - - p-value < alpha --> we can reject H0
      - p-value > alpha --> we can not reject H0
- - - - The goal of the hypothesis test is to exclude chance as an explanation for the results.
    - - it takes your data from the experiment and compare your results with the results you would expect from the null hypothesis
- - - - we have 2-dependent group that could be made from the same individuals (evaluated on different period of time) or on different people but correlated (husband and wife). It is used for repeated measures

        H1: M1 > M2 and H0: M1<=M2 If p-value < alpha we reject H0
    - - We have only one group and we compare the mean of this group with a fixed numerical value (k)
        
        H0: group mean is egual to k (M=k) and H1: group mean is not egual to k (M≠k). If p-value < alpha we reject H0

        while a single frequency distribution describes one variable at time. Cross tabulation describes two or more variables simoultaneously
