Courage and Adventure
In my idea, there isn’t much adventure. However, there will be courage as Josh has to overcome the intimidating giant in his house.

Messages Communicated
The message I want to portray in my short film is that children are able to use their voices well. They shouldn't have to be scared or afraid to speak up.
Brief Link
My idea will link to the brief in many ways. My idea is an adaptation of "Jack and the Beanstalk". It will begin with a timid, young boy who wants to face the giant for his mother's sake. The idea of a boy and a giant is the adaptation. It will also be between 2-10 minutes.
Techniques
Lighting - I will use a low key lighting for the dim tone of the story. I will then either film with high key lighting or edit the colour grading towards the end when James has stood up to Trevor

Camera - I will use a range of shots and angles. Some include low and high angles to emphasise the alarming presence of Trevor and the fearfulness of James
Music and Sound Effects
I would like to use some effects for Trevor's voice to make him sound more intimidating than the actor can do. I would only like have a song over the closing credits. I'm not too sure on the other sound effects I will be using.
