Lean manufacturing
Based on saving on costs whilst saving energy,by cutting down on waste & amount of energy and waste materials used
this is done by adapting designs, making changes to the production process
For example, to reduce waste, a packaging net could be redesigned to include a tessellating pattern or, to improve efficiency, changeover times between production runs could be reduced.
One-Off
One off is a process minimising costs and maximising efficiency by cutting down on waste and the amount of materials and energy used in production.

Advantages High-quality craftsmanship, prototypes can be tested
Disadvantages Expensive, requires specialist labour, time consuming
Batch Production
Batch production is where many items of the same product are produced, such as mobile phones and TVs.
A range of products can be made, particularly ones that are regularly changed, but time is lost when retooling and skilled workers are needed.
Allows flexible production Making many small batches can be expensive
Inventories of part-finished goods can be stored and completed later If production runs are different there may be additional costs and delays in preparing equipment
Continuous Production
The chief advantage of continuous production lies in the cost-efficient production of high volumes of standardized products. On the other hand, disadvantages include little flexibility for product modifications once the line is operational, steep initial investment costs, and a heightened risk of overstocking.
It can produce huge volumes of a product at a low cost but it is limited to a small range of products
Continuous production lasts all day, everyday, all year, 24/7 hours per day and week, 365 days a year and all years it runs for.
mass production
made in large quantities, made by automated machinery with assembly line workers used to fit together, add standard components.
products are kept low cost as buying materials in bulk saves on costs, however there is a cost for the assembly line
