Colooseum The Colosseum is one of the most famous landmarks in Italy and the world. It’s a huge ancient amphitheater located in Rome. Built almost 2,000 years ago (around 70-80 AD), it was used for gladiator fights, big shows, and events where people watched warriors battle each other or wild animals. The Colosseum could hold tens of thousands of spectators, like a giant sports stadium today. Even though it’s partly ruined now, it still shows how amazing Roman engineering and architecture were. Millions of people visit the Colosseum every year to see this incredible piece of history.
St. Peter's Basilica St. Peter’s Basilica is one of the biggest and most famous churches in the world. It’s located in Vatican City, right in the heart of Rome. The basilica was built over the tomb of Saint Peter, one of Jesus’s apostles and the first pope. The building is huge and beautiful, with an amazing dome designed by the artist Michelangelo. Inside, you can find incredible artworks, including sculptures and paintings by famous artists like Bernini and Raphael. St. Peter’s Basilica is a very important place for the Catholic Church and attracts millions of visitors and pilgrims every year.
