Poster
Audience
The target audience for my poster will be 5 to 10 year olds. However, due to the themes of my film it will definitely be aimed more at 8 and up. My film will be a coming of age for not just children, but for all audiences so that everyone and anyone can enjoy it.
Children mainly watch films with their parents, whether that is at the cinemas or at home as a family activity. For that reason, making my film enjoyable for all ages will be essential instead of having a smaller audience.
Some examples of children's movies that adults also enjoy are the How to Train Your Dragon series, the Shrek series, The Lion King and Finding Nemo. All of these films have elements that appeal to adults also, like the humour and mature themes that children will look over.
Imagery
I want my main icon to be an animal which represents strength, such as an elephant or a lion. This is because my film has themes of bravery and courage throughout, and my animal will be featured in every flashback.
As well as animals, trees and flowers will be important imagery as well because it's important for kids to engage in the environment and their surroundings.

Colours
Due to the theme being nature, the main colour used will be green with different shades. Additionally, some warmer toned colours like yellow and orange will emphasise the childhood and nostalgia themes of my film.
-
Kids are more drawn to bright colours such as reds, yellows and pinks. This is because warm, bright colours radiate happiness so create a sense of positivity and playfulness in children.

Typography
-
According to research, children usually are more interested in fonts that are bold, playful and easy to read. This is because it creates a feeling of whimsy and excitement in them.
Fonts with rounded or simple letterforms include Helvetica, Gill Sans and Quicksand. All these fonts are versatile due to their readability.
Layout
Vibrant colours, playful fonts with clear and concise language that children are able to read and understand. Illustrations and/or images can assist in making the content both engaging and easy to understand.
Visual hierarchy will be important - guide the viewer's eyes to the main message or image in the poster. White space can help with this and make the poster feel less overwhelming and overcrowding.
My main image or illustration will be in the centre of the product, with the heading either at the top or bottom of it. It will mean the viewer's attention will be instantly directed at my image and heading rather than any other elements.
Purpose
The purpose of my poster will be to promote and advertise my film to future audiences, and enticing them to see it at the cinema or at home on a streaming service such as Netflix.
My poster will be displayed in a variety of locations like cinemas, buses, billboards and even as décor in houses.
Information
From looking at pre-existing posters for my target audience, majority of them do not include much if not any information. This could be as children will not understand the information displayed on the poster, and will focus on the images and colours instead.
My poster will include a title, tagline and maybe a release date. I don't want to overcrowd my product and make it too confusing for my primary audience.
