For artists and natural scientists, which is more important: what can be explained or what cannot be explained? Discuss with reference to the arts and the natural sciences.
what is an artist?
an artist is someone who expresses their thoughts and emotions through their work in the form of art, music, dancing, drawings or writings
an artist does not have to necessarily be talented in his field of work, the way he expresses his feelings can also lead to him having an impact on others.
an artist also does not particularly need to work for fame, he can create art to send a message or simply just for entertainment purposes

for artists
an artist tries to find meaning in any art form, this meaning can be found through different methods

to an artist, what can be explained and what cannot be explained are equally as important as what art means to someone is interpreted by the observer
whether someone feels a particular artform is important or not is subjective, and can be justified

abstract paintings
this style of art consists of various shapes, splashes of color with no particular vision or outline of a tangible object
it is unexplainable, yet it is fascinating and can be a source of entertainment
it is important to have unexplainable art so that people learn to accept the curse of the unknown, learn from curiosity kills the cats
certain components in abstract art such as shapes, colours are important so that people are able to assign physical objects to intangible ideas such as love or happiness
historic paintings
this artform consists of paintings particularly from the renaissance era that have a deep history to them and their painters
their origin, meaning and interpretation are concrete and explainable to a certain degree
people can learn about old cultures, traditions or norms from these paintings
for scientists
scientists do not like assumptions, assumptions diminishes the justification of proof towards the truth of factual knowledge, knowledge that does not fluctuate in opinions but are true in all cases no matter what
in experimentation, getting consistent results ensures that what is experimented is understood to a sufficient degree where we could replicate the experiment anywhere and get the same results
thus, this knowledge can be explained to a certain point, which is acceptable at a societal level, however scientists may not be satisfied if they could only produce results without understanding the process, which may lead to scientists needing more experimentation to further understand the phenomena
however, if said experimentation produces wildly different results which indicates an unknown variable to the scientists, it will also be beneficial as this poses new questions to be answered. In science, questions are the motivators which drive research, With questions, scientists are able to conduct research in multiple areas in order to search for an understanding of a phenomenon.

combining chemicals
in order to produce other materials, we have to attain their base chemicals and combine those to form our desired substance
this process is explainable and is repeatable as we know of the properties of each chemical and how to utilize them
scientists are able to replicate this process without fail and produce the same substance every time
