3 plastic bottles - Coggle Diagram
3 plastic bottles
Bottle 1
Discarded
in to a
junk
Goes to the
landfill
The
rainwater
crates a
toxic
poison
(Leachate)
Leachate
can move into
groundwater
,
soil
and
streams
,
poisoning
ecosystems
and killing animals like
seagulls
or
seabirds
Bottle 2
Goes to the river
Ends up
in the sea
Gets dragged into a massive vortex where
garbage patch
accumulates where seabirds get entangled
The bottle breaks down in smaller and smaller pieces of plastic
(microplastic)
The
microplastic
is eaten by a squid
The squid is eaten by a
tuna
And the tuna is eaten by us (Like a
food chain
)
The
microplastic
is eaten by some animals
Plastic makes the animal feel full when they're not
And then the animal dies (
starves
to death)
Bottle 3
A truck brings him to a plant
The bottle is squeeze and compress to a block
The blocks are shredded into tiny pieces which are washed and melted
They become the
(raw materials)
that can be used again
Where do bottles come from?
They come from an oil
refinery
The plastic in their bodies was formed by chemically bonding oil and gas molecules together to make monomers
In turn, these monomers were bonded into long polymer chains to make plastic
Those were melted at manufacturing plants and reformed in molds
