Children at Work in the Victorian Era
Hard for poor people.
Only rich children goes to school.
Kids had to work.
It was normal for job employers to give jobs to children.
Children had to do dangerous jobs like, chimney sweeps, domestic servants, mill workers, factory workers, farm hands, working in coal mines etc.
Inequality in education.
There were no laws to protect children.(no clidren rights.)
There were workhouses
Family could'nt see eachother much.
People had to work hard to live in there.
People had to wear uniforms.
They could only eat gruel. (sometimes bread and cheese)
There were only a bit of education and it was more for boys.(gender inequality)
Children had to sleep in large dormitories and share beds.
There were punishments unless you don't do obey the rules.
No leaving without permission.
Reading in general was forbidden.
Going to church was a rule.
Going to bet at 8pm and waking up at 6am.
No games in general.
