Simple present
usually changes to the simple past
in reported speech.
DIRECT: We are in London for the first time."
INDIRECT: He says (that) they are in London for the first time.
Simple Past
he simple past tense usually changes to the past perfect in reported speech.
EXAMPLE:
DIRECT: I want ice-cream.
INDIRECT: She said that she wanted ice-cream.
Questions - reported speech
we can use direct speech or indirect speech
direct speech: 'I work in a bank,' said Daniel.
indirect speech: Daniel said that he worked in a bank.
